CEOP... advice, help, report

Lawley School will provide children with a caring, stimulating, calm and enjoyable environment

in which they can grow as confident and independent learners.

All children will experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential

part of learning and development whatever their age, ability or circumstances.

The School Book Fair will be with us on Monday 6th February, Tuesday 7th & Wednesday 8th. The school hall will be open on these afternoons between 3.00pm and 4.00pm where you are invited to come along with your children and hopefully purchase from the excellent selection of fiction, non-fiction and activity books available. School receives 60% commission from all books sold, which is used to purchase additional books for the school library. Hope to see you there!
Instead of sending Christmas Cards within school we are again supporting Oxfam unwrapped. A collection envelope will be in each class from 1st December and money raised will buy such things as a pair of goats for £50, giving a family milk, fertilizer for crops, the goats can be bred and add on to the herd or pass on a pair of kids to another family. Not ba-a-a-d!
It was great to see so many of you at the Christmas performances over the last two weeks - what excellent productions they all were! Everyone worked so very hard, and we have lots of talent in school! Many thanks for your donations, totalling £189.43, and this will be forwarded to Hope House Children's Hospice.
Lawley School is supporting Operation Christmas Child again this year, where people fill shoe boxes with Christmas pressies for a needy child in Eastern Europe - a child who has probably never before received a present. Thank you to everyone who has donated a shoe box - we have had 70 donated!70 children who will have a smile on their face this Christmas.
Thanks to everyone for supporting Children in Need day - we raised a brilliant £333.58.
We have some year 5 children working closely with West Mercia Police looking at road safety outside school. A meeting has been arranged on Wednesday 16th November at 3.00pm if you are interested in joining our new Traffic Safety Team. Please click on 'about school' then 'letters' for more information.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Harvest Celebrations & Coffee Mornings - helping to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support. We've raised the brilliant total of £336.67. Congratulation to Reg Vrahimis, Lucia's daddy who correctly guessed the teddy bear's name - Harvey.
The non-uniform days held in October raised £322.92 for jeans for genes day, helping children born with a genetic disorder. Also Wear it Pink Day, supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign raised £322.92 - thank you for supporting these two charities.
What a spectacular event this was!!! Many, many thanks to everyone who made it such a superb day - it was so well supported and raised substantial funds enabling us to pursue creative projects with our children; all the things that were showcased, projects like the newspaper and African drumming. Thank you so much.
Please be aware that Telford & Wrekin Council have begun work around school to improve the safety of our children. The layby is officially one way, yellow lines, bollards and restricted waiting signs are now in place and your co-operation in observing the new restrictions is appreciated. A plan is on the notice board in the foyer if you wish to study it.
Following a Telford & Wrekin Council inspection, Lawley School kitchen has been awarded a 5 Star Hygiene Rating. Congratulations to Mrs Owens, our school cook, and all her staff for this excellent rating.
Our Food Policy can be found by clicking 'About the School' then going in to 'Healthy Schools' which then gives you the Food Policy ready for opening.
Congratulations everyone, we have been awarded the 'Emotional Health and Well being' and 'Physical Activity' certificates which go towards our Healthy Schools Standard.
The children should be completing the matrix grids every day.
